WILLIAM SNYDER 31ST OHIO PRESENTATION MUSICIAN SWORD
a nice early ames sword dated 1860 and has been nickel plated after the war, common when hanging in GAR halls is this William H snyder 31st ohio infantry sword with his academy initials on the other sie. A nice name inscription on the other as viewed. William enlisted on 09/18/1861 as a private in lewisburg Ohio, Peble county. He was discharged in September 1862 due to poor vision according to pensions and discharge letters. During that time was promoted to band leader due to his experience pre civil war. His last pension is signed by Col Warnock Married Sarah in 1845 in Eaton Ohio. We have complete photos of his family gravesite with all the records of the cmemtery papers by a visit to the cemetery.
