How cool of a inscription ( presented to Lt H.H.Crane by his friend and soldier leonard Delamater. German silver Union shield. His friend was a buddy in his home town who enlisted within several weeks of each other. Henry Crane enlisted as a private on 06/09/1862 and had 2 promotions.Released on 10/01/1862 and joined the 187th. he was captured, exhanged at Harpers Ferry July 1862.Both soldiers served together in the 187th.He also fought at Antietam. Parol records are also in with the papers from the National Archieves researched by the Horse Soldier.Leonard Delamater enlisted as a private on 09/03/1861 Discharged for wounds at Gaines Mills on 06/27/1862 according to civilwardata.com. Promoted 12/26/1864 Corpl company B. A nice sword with a great union shield. Hilt not the best condition and slight rust on the scabbard. Good motiffs still on the blade.( You are buying two soldiers presentations for the price of one id*d soldier. One soldier captured, the other one wounded) displays well on the wall. Records. The records of Delmater have not been researched in Washington yet....
